If the manufacturer confirms that this type of cleaning method is suitable, make sure the iron is unplugged before you begin. Avoid getting paste into the steam holes and remove any residue thoroughly with a clean damp cloth afterwards.

The iron should be completely clean and dry before it is plugged in and used again.
